Wado Kai established in 1965
There are now more frequent reports of social and domestic violence in the UK. Anyone at any time could potentially become the next victim of a violent attack. We are inviting people to come and learn the art of Karate, so that they are in a better position to defend themselves if a violent situation did arise. We offer training sessions with six expert black belt instructors, who have a combined experience of 145 years of karate training.
We cater the training for men and women of all physical abilities.
The club instructors teach traditional Wado karate techniques with a strong emphasis on the application of karate in today's society and in realistic street situations. Wado Kai is a dynamic style of karate, which emphasises speed and body evasion, instead of meeting an attack head on with a hard clash of limbs and bodies. It is therefore very suitable for women learn as a method of self-defence, which will lead to a greater feeling of self-confidence.
The traditional training is combined with modern exercise techniques, which includes the benefits of a full body cardiovascular workout, resulting in effective body toning and weight loss. The mental aspects of combatics are also taught, so practitioners of this style of karate gain a better understanding of how to deal with confrontational situations quickly.
Training sessions are normally held three nights per week and a full schedule is available over the telephone by contacting Daniel Chaganis on 0191 4253724.
